Southend-on-Sea Swimming Club (SOSSC) is a competitive swimming club established in 1894. Originally the club trained in a 50-yard open air pool on Westcliff seafront. This site is now the home of Genting Casino. In 1969 after joining with Leigh Swimming Club the new Southend and Leigh Swimming Club (SALS) moved to Warrior Square. In the 1980’s the Club reverted to its previous name Southend-on-Sea Swimming Club. In 2010 the Club moved to the new Southend Swimming and Diving Centre at Garon Park.
The mission of Southend-on-Sea Swimming Club is to provide teaching and coaching opportunities in a safe and professional environment to allow each member to reach their true individual potential. The Club is committed to treat everyone equally within the context of their activity, regardless of sex, ethnic origin, religion, disability, age, sexual orientation or political persuasion.
